Asthma
Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the lungs which is usually characterized by reversible airway obstruction. Attacks, which often include shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing, are stimulated by such substances as molds, pollens, animal dander, dust mites and cockroaches in the environment. Long-term treatment is very important to control asthma. Additional information on the prevention and control of asthma can be found in our Asthma Section.
