teen power's entrepreneur spotlight
What role did education play in your career choice? - Education was very important in my career choice. Without a solid high school education, I would not have been able to get a solid college education. Without a solid college education, I would not have been able to get a solid medical school education. Without a solid medical school education, I would not have been able to get a good solid ophthalmology residency. So each step along the educational path was very crucial in planning my career choice and achieving it.
Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they? - I enjoy reading, watching documentaries on the History Channel and learning about history, going to the movies, spending time with my wife and child, traveling and learning about different cultures and seeing different historical landmarks.
Is there anything else you want to share with teens who visit our Teen Power web site that you feel it's critical for them to know? - I think that the teens of today must know that they do have tremendous opportunities available to them. Millions of people come from other countries around the world, and they come to America to make it and take advantage of the opportunities available. Education is number one and they must try to do as well as they can at school first and foremost. Second, they should obtain various volunteer or part time experiences in areas that they may think they may be interested in. Third, as they become successful, they should make sure that they serve as role models to other people around them because that will help younger brothers and sisters, or youth, around them. Our teens must continue to make sure that an equal playing ground is available for everyone in society today.
