Daniel Laroche, M.D. - As President of Advanced Eyecare of New York, Dr. Laroche provides medical, surgical and laser treatments for glaucoma. This disorder is an eye disease in which the pressure inside the eyes is usually elevated. Unless it is properly treated, vision loss or blindness may result. Advanced Eyecare has two offices, one in Harlem, and the other one in southeast Queens. This allows him to focus on providing glaucoma care to the African-American and Caribbean communities. In addition to his private practice of Medicine, Dr. Laroche holds the following positions:
- Director of Glaucoma Services at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital's Ophthalmology Division of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary,
- Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College,
- Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology in the Glaucoma Service of Harlem Hospital, an Affiliate of Columbia University, and
- Attending Ophthalmologist at North General Hospital
Dr. Laroche's past and current organizational leadership positions include:
- Chairman of the International Glaucoma Foundation
- President of the Manhattan Central Medical Society
- National Vice President of the Student National Medical Association, and
- Vice President of Queens Clinical Society.
He is bilingual, speaking both English and French.
Dr. Laroche received his bachelor's degree (college degree) in chemistry from New York University, and his M.D. degree (medical degree) from Cornell University Medical College.
