original teen power leaders and editors
Sandy Torres
The first Editor of the original Health Power Teen Advisory Council (TAC) and a TAC leader. Sandy was born and raised in Bronx, New York and received a New York State Regents Diploma from Aquinas High School in June 2003. She then went on to pursue a degree in Corporate Communications/Journalism at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York. She graduated in ________________, and is currently _____________________________________________.
In 2003, Sandy received the Regional Journalism Silver Medal for Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards. She also occasionally writes for the school newspaper at Manhattan College, which is affiliated with the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
William Jimenez
Co-Chair of Health Power's Teen Advisory Council (TAC) from 200_ to 200_. He is actively involved in improving the knowledge of today's youth pertaining to health. William a.k.a. Willie has lived in New York City his entire life and attended Chelsea Vocational High School located in SOHO, NY and was attending Polytechnic University in Brooklyn while he was a TAC member, pursuing a career in Computer Engineering, hoping to work for an energy company. Because he is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish, William is able to communicate with those who are not fluent in English to inform them about issues affecting the youth of today. William states, "Some teens think that they know about their health, but they really don't."
Ryan Shirley
Member of Health Power's Teen Advisory Council (TAC) from 200_ to 200_.Ryan was a TAC member during when 18 and 19 years old. From Brooklyn, New York, Ryan is a graduate of Midwood High School [, and now?.] His volunteer work has included participating in food drives and clothing donation activities for his church. He has also worked as a tutor and child care worker during the summer.
Computer skills include:
- Windows, and performing numerous office services including record keeping.
Reenee Richards
Co-Chair of Health Power's Teen Advisory Council (TAC) from 200_ to 200 -. A 19 year old, Reenee attends Brooklyn Technical High School. She was an honor roll student for all three years of Intermediate School, and received an Arista Award in the seventh and eighth grades. Reenee has been an honor roll student in high school, and had perfect attendance during several school years.
She has worked at a Day Care Center and Travel Agency.

Wrangel Caliboso
Co-Chair of Health Power's Teen Advisory Council (TAC) from 200_ to 200_. A 21 year old, Wrangel is from Yonkers, New York. While in high school, he was Student Council President and Model Youth Awardee. After graduating from high school in 2001, he attended the University of the Philippines, the most prestigious and not to mention the hardest-to-get-into-school in the country. He was a member of an organization called KAISA that focused on preserving culture of his home province.
In 2002, Wrangel moved to the United States and was accepted to the State University of New York at Purchase, where he was awarded the Dean's List status for 2 consecutive years. In the future, he plans on pursuing a Computer Engineering degree and continuing with his notable curriculum at Brooklyn Polytechnic University.
Corey Burgess
Health Power’s first Teen Advisory Council (TAC) member, and the first teen power Editor.
Corey, a 17 year old from Queens, New York, is a sophomore at _________College, and a former student at Brooklyn Technical High School. His career goal as of now is still in the thought process, but he is sure he wants to be a person that can make major changes in his community, and help affect, for the better, as many lives as he can. He is especially focusing on having his own business.
Major accomplishments by Corey include:
Received perfect scores on the New York City citywide Math & ReadingTests in the 4th grade, and in the 5th grade, again received a perfect score in reading.
