Men's Issues

MEN: STAND UP FOR YOUR HEALTH!

It will help you to Look Good, Feel Better, and Live Longer Because

-Men visit their doctor for a regular check-up, or a special health problem less than women.
-Men in the U.S are likely to get sick earlier and die younger than women.
-More African American men develop Prostate Cancer than any other group of men, and they are more likely to develop it earlier.
- Since symptoms of enlarged prostate and prostate cancer overlap, it’s important to be evaluated early because both can often be treated well when the diagnosis is made early.
- Erectile dysfunction, (sometimes called impotency) can often be treated well after a thorough evaluation by a doctor (a urologist is recommended).

Other key issues that men need to know more about include:

- Bodybuilding Steroid Use - Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism - HIV/AIDS
- Smoking and Health - Check out our Quit Smoking and Win Tip Sheets

Men: Stand Up for Your Health®   Why?
  • Although men should consult doctors and other health professionals just like women do, they are much less likely to do so;
  • As an overall group, American men are likely to get sicker and die younger than American Women;
  • Disease prevention, early detection and control help multicultural/minority men to:
*Look Good*   *Feel Better*   *Live Longer*
